Description

The first year of a newborn’s life is a critical period that requires comprehensive care to ensure optimal growth, development, and protection against diseases. The MDMEDICINE Healthy Baby program developed by MDMEDICINE presents an annual preventive and curative program designed to cover all aspects of newborn healthcare, including well-baby monitoring, vaccinations, and other essential interventions to promote their health and well-being during this crucial stage.

Newborns with the MDMEDICINE Healthy Baby Program undergo a thorough assessment during their first visit at one month of age. This includes a physical examination with attention to persistent neonatal jaundice and congenital anomalies, as well as vital sign monitoring, including height and weight. The pediatrician provides guidance on feeding, hygiene, and newborn care practices and addresses parental concerns.

The MDMEDICINE subsequent periodic visits are for regular pediatric check-ups, usually at two-month intervals. During these visits, the pediatrician monitors growth parameters and developmental milestones and conducts physical examinations to detect abnormalities or concerns. Monitoring of weight gain, feeding patterns, and nutritional intake helps ensure adequate growth and development. Parents receive guidance on breastfeeding, formula feeding, solid foods, and appropriate nutrition for the newborn’s age and developmental stage. Parents also receive education on newborn care practices, safe sleep guidelines, infant safety measures, and strategies to promote optimal development and bonding, recognizing signs of illness, fever management, and when to seek medical attention to empower parents to care for their newborn effectively.

During these visits, newborns receive vaccinations as per the recommended immunization schedule, including vaccines for diseases such as hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, Hemophilus influenza type b (Hib), polio, pneumococcal infections, rotavirus, measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR).

The MDMEDICINE pediatrician provides information on access to acute curative care, including emergency services.
